Aengus Celtic God, original painting, Ink on handmade paper, bright coloured, contemporary modern art of male face, modernist portrait art.
In Irish mythology, Aengus is one of the Tuatha Dé Danann and probably originally a god associated with youth, love, summer and poetic inspiration.
The son of The Dagda and Boann, Aengus is also known as Maccan Óc ("the young boy" or "young son"), and corresponds to the Welsh mythical figure Mabon and the Celtic god Maponos.
This brand new ink painting is created on thick handmade Khadi paper, the edges of the paper are rough and not straight, illustrating its handmade nature. The inks are worked into with water sprays and brushes, and overlaid with acrylic paint, the image is built up in layers.
This Original painting size is 21x29cm, and the paper is mounted on to a stretched canvas. The painting is ready to hang as it is, or can be framed.
As always this original painting comes with a hand written, wax sealed parchment for authenticity.
Please message me if you have any questions about the piece.
One of a Kind, This artwork is sold unframed.
