Oberon, the king of the Fairies, here represented in bright swirling colours, genders become irrelevant and their beauty shines through.
“I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine:
There sleeps Titania sometime of the night,
Lulled in these flowers with dances and delight.”
-Oberon, Act 2 Scene 1 – A Midsummer Nights Dream – Shakespeare.
This brand new ink painting is created on thick handmade Khadi paper, the edges of the paper are rough and not straight, illustrating its handmade nature. The inks are worked into with water sprays and brushes, and overlaid with acrylic paint, the image is built up in layers.
This Original painting size is 21x29cm, and the paper is mounted on to a stretched canvas. The painting is ready to hang as it is, or can be framed.
As always this original painting comes with a hand written, wax sealed parchment for authenticity.
